Where old meets new, Barcelona has a modern heartbeat in the midst of ancient architecture. A classic European feel, this city boasts a plethora of outdoor restaurants, museums, churches, beaches and parks.
Quite possibly the most memorable of the tours we took in Barcelona, especially for my soccer fan boys, was Camp Nou Stadium, home of FC Barcalona and Lionel Messi. It’s a bit out of the center of Barcelona, but we had no trouble with the public transportation, and it was well worth the trek to the outskirts of town.
We’ve toured a lot of places, but this Camp Nou tour makes it into the top 10. The well organized tour includes the interactive museum, the players tunnel, the playing field, and the press room. There were a lot of people there, but with so much to look at, and different areas to explore, the crouds didn’t bother us one bit. The highlight of the tour? Holding the 2011 European Cup! Personal cameras were not allowed, but I snuck one on the way out…
Of course, we also had to stop by the team shop for some souvenirs. GOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAALLLLLLL!
Then, of course, we had to play some futbol in the park across the street from our apartment. Such a memorable day in Barcelona!
